Interview With STOPS Back Pain Trial Research Team

I had the pleasure of meeting the STOPS Back Pain Research crew as part of the IFOMPT 2012 Blogging Team through Physio Pedia last year.

At that time, they were still completing their data and awaiting results of the 1 year follow up. That data has now been collected, so I decided to interview the head of the research, Dr. Jon Ford, as well as Alexander Chan, one of his PhD candidates. The interview is 27 minutes long, but is worth it as it has slides from their presentation which they gave yesterday at the World Low Back Pain Congress in Dubai.

In short, their research is clinically applicable as it presents a classification scheme for subacute low back pain patients (6-12 months). The results are interesting at 10 weeks, 6 months, and 12 months for all groups across the different measurements.
