Why Aren't We Stretching the Neck or Low Back?

Why Aren't We Stretching the Neck or Low Back? - themanualtherapist.com
I often get asked this question not only by patients, but by clinicians who are taking my seminars.

This is a quick explanation for repeated end range loading strategies similar to the McKenzie Method. Patients often want to stretch the tight/painful area and if it works, great! Chances are they've already stretched it hundreds of times or more. Then they go to a traditional MT, DC, or manual PT and they get stretches and the tight tissues get "released."
