Erson recounts a recent case where he let his biases dictate the treatment plan. Only after getting "called out" by the patient - who asked - why haven't you treated this as if it was a specific type of case, did he change the treatment plan and the patient got immediate improvement. When your Pattern Recognition leads to good outcomes, it's Experience, when it leads to less than desirable outcomes, it's Bias!
