Quick Links!

Today's Quick Links come from Dr. Perry Nickelston, the Sports Physiotherapist, and Run Blogger.

Run Blogger is a site I started following as I transitioned from heel strike running (i.e. going to get injured, or why I stopped running 7 years ago) to mid-foot striking. He recently embedded a video on the do's and don'ts of running by Dr. Daniel Liberman. Great vid, short and easy to understand. Share with your runners!

Dr. Perry Nickelston, aka @laserdr shot a quick vid on breathing. Breathing is like posture, hard to correct, but the benefits are tremendous! If you treat patients that have spines, or ones that rotate, I suggest you teach them how to breath properly!

The Sports Physiotherapist hits the nail on the head saying there is too much information out there for anyone to know everything! He gives a great review on Mike Boyle's Functional Strength Coach. Maybe some day I'll have time to check it out. I plan on stopping by Mike's Boyle's place when if I ever get some free time up in Boston. Strength and conditioning is something I definitely need more knowledge in, the CSCS is just a test!

  1. Isn't it true that Prof Lieberman is sponsored by Vibram shoes. What else would he say other than barefoot/forefoot/midfoot is best.

  2. I haven't heard that, but I just started getting into this and Dr. Davis' research. The research is pretty convincing in terms of striking and injury for heel strike vs midfoot strike. It's basic physics.
